It’s time to spice up your wardrobe

Singapore’s fashion scene is brimming with options, with not only classic global brands, but some of our very own local labels as well. The wave of local labels sees each brand bringing their own unique touch to the style scene in Singapore offering a range of clothing pieces for every style and occasion. For those of you who are in dire need of some retail therapy, these are some home-grown fashion brands you need to check out.

Singaporean fashion label Arcade Clothing was founded by Collin Goh and Min Poh in 2012. They sell women’s, men’s and even children’s clothing, with a focus on crafting designs which are timeless yet trendy. After being a purely online store for 12 years, they have taken a big step with the recent opening of their first physical store in Funan in early May. The store was opened in collaboration with home-grown coffee joint Alchemist, bringing together the two things that Singaporeans love – coffee and retail therapy.

GINLEE was founded in 2011 and focuses on creating beautiful and elegant clothing pieces which are flattering on everyone. Their pieces are stylish yet comfortable, with their most iconic design being the signature intricate pleating which lightly frames the wearer’s body. GINLEE recently opened a new physical store at New Bahru, MAKE studio, where they also offer their Tee-tO Bag Experience – an opportunity for you to turn your old t-shirt into a stylish tote bag you can carry around daily.

Based in both India and Singapore, conscious fashion label SUI aims to craft pieces which are perfect for any occasion, with minimal environmental impact. Founded by Mahima Gujral in 2018, SUI intends to not only create clothing pieces for women, but to also tell the stories of the artisans which crafted them. They opened their very first pop-up store in Singapore earlier this month at The Social Space, Duo Galleria, and will be there from now till 14 August.
