5150 - Black and white and red all over

Couple nights ago I was sitting around with Dude and Breaux, eating our dinners when the topic turned to the dingy old fridge that was in the garage when Breaux bought the house. Dude says “We should paint the beer fridge.” I had never thought of painting a fridge before to improve it’s appearance. Without looking up from my plate I blurted “We should paint it up like Eddie Van Halen’s Frankenstein strat.” We all kind of nodded and went back to eating and forgot about it.

The next day after work Breaux and I went over to Food Lion to buy beer to eat for dinner and as we pulled right out of the parking lot I said “Oh wait turn around. Let’s go to Lowe’s and get spray paint for the EVH fridge.”

Two cans of red and one can of black later and we were back at the house taping ‘er off just like Uncle Edward did to that lovin’ strat over thirty years ago.

So far so good on the red coat. We made dinner and called it a night until the next evening when it was time for the black stripes.

We wheeled the monolith of awesome back out into the driveway and got to work masking once more.

Despite the fact that we can’t get rid of the dead fish smell inside of it the garage beer fridge is SO much cooler than the clean fridge in the kitchen. I think we should do the kitchen fridge up in Stryper style bee stripes. Or maybe a Zakk Wylde bullseye. Or no… Randy Rhoads polka dots. Yes.

I’ll do this to your fridge for $50. Extra paint fee added for the yellow on black version.
