A familiar face in the Thai entertainment industry, Toey Jarinporn Joonkiat has grown immensely from her days as a teenage model into an actress and host.
There’s more than meets the eye for this multi-hyphenate, so read on to find out more about Toey’s background, hobbies, and side hustle.
Background
Jarinporn Joonkiat, nicknamed Toey, was born 29 January 1990. Her education background consists of a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Srinakharinwirot University, and a master’s in Environmental Social Sciences from Mahidol University.
A long-standing career
Toey made her on-screen debut in 2006 in a supporting role in Rak Hun Sa Karaoke as Ning Nong. She’s most known for her critically-acclaimed works such as Dear Galileo, Countdown, and To the Moon and Back.
Of her numerous nominations and accolades, she won Best Supporting Actress in 2009 for Dear Galileo at the Bangkok Critics Assembly Awards and Best Actress in 2015 for Timeline, at the Suphannahong National Film Awards.
She’s a Prada ambassador
On 10 September 2024, Toey was minted as Prada’s newest brand ambassador.
She was later seen attending the Prada spring/summer 2025 show in Milan on 19 September 2024, just days after the official announcement.
She co-founded a social enterprise
In 2015, Toey co-founded the Environmental Education Centre Thailand (EEC Thailand) with ex-boyfriend Alexander Simon “Alex” Rendell. Though they’ve parted ways romantically, the pair remain good friends and business partners, carrying on with their venture, EEC Thailand, which helps educate children on sustainability by allowing them to experience marine life, wildlife and indigenous camps.
She knows how to scuba dive
Perhaps as part of her interest in sustainability and marine life, Toey also knows how to scuba dive. The actress joined a team of volunteers to pick up marine garbage in a bid to help the underwater ecosystem in Phuket, Thailand.
She plays the guitar
In a world full of talents, Toey Jarinporn certainly has a surplus of it. Besides being endowed with acting chops, this Thai celebrity also plays the guitar and once sang a cover of “Lost Stars” on a TV programme called The Wall Song with Jeff Satur.
She goes to Niseko, Hokkaido every year
At the Prada spring/summer 2025 show, the star revealed her enthusiasm for snowboarding and how she’s been flying to Japan each year to do the sport.
She skateboards
To top it all off, Toey’s cool girl agenda also includes her skateboarding skills. It seems her infectious energy has gotten her father to get on board (pun intended) as well.
