Valentine’s Day is all about love and affection, and a day to honour one’s significant other – be they two- or four-legged.

Dining out with pets is an everyday affair now that more eateries are serving pet owners and their fur kids. So, what other unique ways can pawrents – single or attached – show their appreciation to their loved ones that provide endless joy?

Here are some ideas to treat your furry soulmate and spend a “paw-fect” Valentine’s Day together.

Dog-friendly sunset sail

Sail into the sunset on board luxury ship Royal Albatross for the Valentine’s Day Dog Cruise.

The experience, which started in 2021 as an extension of the tall ship’s popular human-only romantic dinner cruise, will set sail on Feb 12 at 6.30pm.

Pet owners and their animal guests can indulge in a gourmet meal. The humans dig into a four-course plated menu, while the dogs wolf down a three-course dinner from home-grown pet food provider PetCubes. Meals will be served on the outdoor upper deck or in the air-conditioned grand salon.

Dogs of all breeds and sizes are welcome, with baby chairs available for smaller pooches.

The 2½-hour voyage, which starts at Resorts World Sentosa, will take guests around the Sentosa coastline and Southern Islands.

Info: The cruise costs $225 for an adult, $125 for a child aged 12 and below, $30 for a small dog and $60 for a dog weighing more than 10kg.

Treat your feline buddy to a weekend of festivities at the Singapore Cat Carnival 2025, held at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre Hall C from Feb 22 to 23.

Organised by home-grown pet community platform Clubpets, this event aims to bring together cat owners, breeders and enthusiasts, while raising awareness about responsible pet ownership, welfare and care.

Visit with your cat for free skin and coat consultations and basic grooming services; and hands-on workshops on cat care, nutrition and healthcare. There is also a competition to find the best-dressed cat, the cutest kitty and the most talented feline.

The carnival is also a shopper’s paradise where owners can buy a wide range of cat essentials from toys to fashion.

Cat lovers should not miss the Breeds Of The World Showcase, where 10 popular cat breeds, such as Maine Coon, British Shorthair and Siberian, are featured. Visitors can reserve time slots to interact with these cats curated by Feline Club Singapore.

Breeders certified by the Animal & Veterinary Service will share about responsible breeding practices and ethical ownership.

Info: Tickets, priced at $6 for a one-day pass and $10 for a two-day entry, are available at sgcatcarnival.com. The event is from 10am to 8pm.

Do good with your fur kid and participate in the Furever Valentine’s Day Walk at PAssionWave @ Marina Bay on Feb 22 at 5pm.

A collaborative event by Singapore Special Dogs, a community of dog lovers, the walk seeks to celebrate the special bond between humans and their dogs while supporting local animal welfare initiatives.

The guided waterfront walk is open to all kinds of dogs. Those without any canine friends can also participate and find their Valentine among the dogs from dog welfare group Action for Singapore Dogs (ASD), which are available for adoption.

Refuel after the walk with a specially curated Valentine’s Day picnic dinner from pet-friendly restaurant and bar Kontiki. Choose from burgers, pasta or pizzas for yourself, and salmon, beef, pork or chicken protein bowls for your dog.

Pawrents can also twin with their fur kids in the event’s apparel – a matching T-shirt or tank top and a dog bandana – when they pre-order the event bundle ($60), which includes a goodie bag. They can also buy the bundles on the day of the event, while stocks last.

The event supports welfare groups ASD and Chained Dog Awareness in their mission to advocate for dog adoption and responsible pet ownership.

Info: Sign up for the Furever Valentine’s Day Walk here. Pre-order the Kontiki picnic takeaway sets at preorder.kontiki.sg by Feb 19.
