The season of love is still a good few weeks away, but it’s never too early to start planning the agenda for your romantic rendezvous with your boo. With Valentine’s Day taking place on a Friday this year, it’s the perfect opportunity to have a romantic night out where you can wine and dine with your significant other, or even celebrate Galentine’s with the gals.
If you’re still cracking your head trying to whip up a romantic date for the 14th of February, there’s no shame in falling back on the foolproof recipe — flowers, chocolates, and the good old dinner date at a nice restaurant.
For the budget-conscious, here’s our roundup of eight restaurants serving up specially curated Valentine’s Day menus, with at least three courses, that are under $300.
1. Le Clos
If you’re a wine lover, head over to Le Clos for their special four-course menu ( $188++ for two persons or $94++ per person; minimum 2 persons to dine for this set menu ). Housed in New Bahru, this wine house and restaurant serves French comfort food that pairs perfectly with wine.
First off, start with their Wild Mushroom & Truffle Tarte Flambée and Hand-Dived Hokkaido Scallop. For mains, choose from either the Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb, which comes with mashed potatoes and Périgord black truffle, or the Whole Turbot, prepared with leeks, hazelnuts and garlic oil vinaigrette. To round off your meal, indulge in their decadent Opalys White Chocolate & Raspberry Gâteau.
And of course, no Valentine’s Day dinner is complete without a glass of wine. Choose from Le Clos’ extensive selection of over 800 labels and enjoy a three-glass wine pairing ($88++) to take your dinner to the next level.

2. Carlitos
On 14 and 15 February, Carlitos will be serving up a wide array of authentic Spanish tapas for their Valentine’s Day Set Menu ($98++ per person).
Tuck into dishes like the Atlantic Seabass, Black Angus Beef Short Rib, and a Spanish classic, Suckling Pig. With nine delicious bites prepared by Chef Carlos Montobbio to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
If you’re looking for a more laidback and casual option with a lively atmosphere, grab your partner, or girlfriends, and head over to this no-frills tapas bar in Joo Chiat.

3. The Prince
Kickstart your V-Day celebrations with The Prince’s tantalising line-up of modern Arabic cuisine for lunch. With prices starting at just $29++ per person for one dip, one mezze, one main, and one dessert, The Prince is probably the option with the most bang for your buck. Here, you can choose from dishes like Lamb Kofta and Cauliflower Tagine, just to name a few.
But it doesn’t stop there. In fact, you can also opt for their Signature Karam Dinner menu (from $78++ to $158++ per person) which includes your choice of one main and one dessert, with free-flow mezzes. Some of the highlights include the Wagyu Tenderloin and the Boston Lobster.
With their sophisticated Middle Eastern food and decor, you don’t have to travel far to experience a desert romance.

4. Meadesmoore
Meat lovers, this one’s for you. Indulge in a five-course dinner at Meadesmoore, a modern steakhouse specialising in unusual cuts of beef and other meats ($118++ per person for fish option or $133++ per person for beef).
Whet your appetite with the Caprese Marshmallow, Smoked Tuna & Vinegar Gelée Tartlet before digging into either the Charred Octopus, followed by either the Hazelnut Praline-Crusted Chilean Cod or Sher Wagyu Steak & Short Rib Pressé. For dessert, a Warm Chocolate Tart awaits you. The star of the night, though, is the decadent Caviar & Crab Bavarois, that’s made with a mix of caviar and savoury crab panna cotta – an indulgent treat that’s sure to delight your palate.
If you’re unavailable on 14 February, this dinner menu will also be available from the 10th to the 13th as a four-course meal ($88++ per person for fish option or $103++ for beef), sans the Caviar & Crab Bavarois course.

5. Neon Pigeon
Whether you’re single, in a situationship, or perhaps a jilted lover (we hope not), Neon Pigeon has prepared quite the line-up with their Anti-Valentine’s Day Spread. Starting from $98++ per person, you can enjoy their set menu which consists of five courses.
With highlights such as Hamachi, Chilean Seabass, and Grilled Tsukene, Neon Pigeon is sure to hit the spot if you’re not in the mood for love, and crave bold and eclectic Japanese fare instead.

6. FIRE
Celebrate love in the clouds by treating your partner to the five-course Valentine’s Day menu at FIRE (prices starting at $148++ per person). Nestled in ION Sky, perched 55 floors above Orchard Road, FIRE is an Argentinian restaurant specialising in meats grilled to perfection.
Happening from 14 to 15 February, FIRE’s exclusive menu will see highlights such as the Forest Mushroom Gnocchi and Plancha Seared Halibut. There will also be vegetarian options like the Roasted Cumin and Garlic Marinated Cauliflower. No matter which option you pick, FIRE’s distinct smoky and salty Argentine Asado flavours are sure to satisfy your cravings for all things savoury.
After closing your dinner off with the Thyme-Raspberry and White Chocolate Mousse, take a romantic stroll along Orchard Road to complete the night.

7. Market Bistro
In the days leading up to Valentine’s Day, from 10 to 13 February, Market Bistro will be serving up a three-course dinner meal ($68++ per person for the fish option or $80++ for beef) for couples seeking a lighter option.
Dinner will commence with a serving of warm artisanal sourdough bread with savoury seaweed and truffle butter, followed by the rich and nutty Sunchoke Velouté. For mains, choose between the Pan-Roasted Greenland Halibut or top up $12 for the Nipponham Angus Flat Iron. End your meal on a sweet note with the Strawberry & Basil Tart to complete your simple and elegant dinner.
To mark the occasion on Valentine’s Day, Market Bistro is adding a fourth course to this dinner menu, with the addition of their Yellowtail Kingfish Ceviche as an appetiser.

8. Banquet of Hoshena
For the most romantic day of the year, Banquet of Hoshena has cooked up a romantic twist to their already impressive 7-course immersive dining experience.
Through 3D projections that appear directly on your dinner plate and specially-composed music accompanying the storyline narration, the Sweetheart’s Banquet of Hoshena (starting from $138++ per person or $266++ per couple) will surely set the mood and transport you to another dimension full of fantasy and folklore.
Your food journey will start off with the savoury Rosemary & Olive Tartlet. Next, the Salmon Tartare with Shiso Leaf Tempura followed by your choice of either Chicken Roulade or Braised Wagyu Beef Brisket ($158++ per person or $306++ per couple) for the main course. Dinner will be topped off with their show-stopping Romance Rose Strawberry Mousse Cake.
If you’re feeling fancy, there’s also a wine pairing option ($60++ per person) where you get three glasses of wine with one cocktail to enhance your dining experience.
