Back home
After being away from home for a very tumultuous and sad week, my mom and I got into Charlotte today around noon. I’m back home with the whiney doberman, the warm weather (sunny in the 40’s) and the easel. I’ll be back to the smokey bar full of drunk assbags tomorrow night. I’ll be back to my jiu jitsu class later on tonight.
I’m looking forward to gradually sifting through the recent happenings and getting back to normal. I’m glad I’m near my mom these days more than ever. It would suck extra hard for her to deal with everything to come alone. It’d suck for me too.
I was lazily looking through a box of photos my aunt left out in her living room a couple days ago and I came across many gems that I wanted to scan but I narrowed it down to this fantastic family portrait from wayyyy back when my parents were still together, back when I had my first mullet, my father had a short-lived (thank god) moustache, my mom wore a Star Trek the Next Generation uniform all the time and my brother was smaller than me.
I’ve included what both of the cute little guys grew up to become. Enjoy.

Tony and I want to send our sympathy on the loss of your Grandfather. I’m sure your Mom is really happy to have you around right now.
That’s precious. And PS, I’m sorry to hear about your grandpa too. *HUGS*
