BLACKPINK’s Jisoo hits us like an ‘earthquake’ with her solo comeback

Two years since her solo debut in 2023, BLACKPINK’s visual and vocalist Jisoo is returning to the music scene. From K-drama roles to her recent appearance at the Dior haute couture spring/summer 2025 show, it’s clear that Jisoo is making her comeback bigger and better this year. Ahead, we take a look at some of her recent promotional activities in anticipation of her upcoming solo album dropping this Valentine’s Day.

Upcoming solo album, Amortage

Jisoo’s debut solo album Me, released in 2023, saw widespread commercial success with its lead single “꽃 (Flower)”. Two years later, the BLACKPINK vocalist is set to make a comeback with Amortage this Valentine’s Day. Combining “amor”— the Latin word for “love”— with ‘montage’, the album is said to reflect the defining stages and moments of love.

Amortage also saw Jisoo signing a deal with Warner Records to promote her solo album. Post-departure from her previous management company YG Entertainment, Jisoo’s solo music will be released under BLISSOO, her personal label established in February 2024.

On 11 February, Jisoo dropped a music video teaser for “earthquake”, a track from her upcoming album. The music video is scheduled for release on 14 February 2025 at 2pm Korea Standard Time (1pm SGT).

Upcoming fan meetings in Asia

In support of Amortage, Jisoo also recently announced her first solo fan meetings to be held across seven cities in Asia. Titled “LIGHTS, LOVE, ACTION”, fans can look forward to seeing the star up close and in person after the release of Amortage.

K-drama comeback with Newtopia

The idol actress is also starring in the K-drama Newtopia, which premiered on 7 Feb 2025. Her lead role as the ex-girlfriend of Jae-yoon (played by Park Jeong Min) sees the pair playing a recently broken-up couple hoping to reconcile after a zombie outbreak in South Korea.

Appearance at Dior Haute Couture Spring Summer 2025

As Dior’s global ambassador, Jisoo has made multiple appearances at the French fashion house’s shows. In January, she graced the Maison’s haute couture spring/summer 2025 show wearing a black dress paired with a cropped leather jacket.

She was also recently unveiled as one of the muses for Dior Beauty’s revamped Dior Addict Lip Glow.

Upcoming film Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

The film adaptation of the popular South Korean webnovel titled Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint began production in December 2023. Boasting a star-studded cast comprising Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo Seop, and Jisoo, the film is slated for release in the summer of 2025. Jisoo portrays the character Lee Jihye, a high school girl who becomes a member of protagonist Kim Dokja’s company.
