K-pop megastar and one-quarter of the world’s biggest girl group, Blackpink, Lisa has added “actress” to her already long list of accolades with her role as resort manager Mook in the widely acclaimed black comedy series The White Lotus Season 3. The “Born Again” singer appeared in style at both the Los Angeles and Bangkok red carpets to celebrate the return of the popular HBO series.

Leaning into the lavish setting of her small-screen role, Lisa looked ready to walk down the aisle in an exuberant display of color, rhinestones, and satin. On the beauty front, the 27-year-old Thai native opted for glamorous, regal makeup that contrasted with the fresh-faced, barely-there look of her on-screen character.

How to achieve Blackpink Lisa’s Thai-style makeup

For the uninitiated, Thai-style makeup is a popular aesthetic that is just now entering the mainstream. According to makeup artist Aung Apichai of Artistry Studios, it typically features heavily lined eyes, voluminous lashes, high blush placement, lightly tinted eyebrows, sculpted cheekbones and nose bridge, and ombré lips. “Don’t be too precise with the lips—opt for a stain instead of an obviously defined pout,” cautions Aung. The end result is a “soft glam” doll-like look that is both feminine and ethereal.

The eyes are a focal point of Thai-style makeup. “Double eyelid tape is a non-negotiable way to enhance the eyes,” says makeup artist Lasalle Lee. To draw attention to them and frame the face, “groom your arches with a brown eyebrow pencil or tint,” adds Aung.

Even though eye makeup is a key component of Thai-style beauty, the base is just as important. “There is a preference for brighter complexions, so tone-up sunscreens and brightening primers are often used under foundation,” he adds. Aung also recommends applying a thin layer of liquid highlighter all over the face before foundation to create a lit-from-within, youthful glow.

Considering how the action-packed series—which also stars Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, and Leslie Bibb—pulled in an impressive 2.4 million viewers during its premiere (up 57 percent compared to The White Lotus Season 2 in 2022), expect Lisa’s glamorous beauty looks to be everywhere on Pinterest—just in time for this year’s wedding season.
