From Matthew Perry to Moonbin: These are the celebs we lost in 2023

Best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom series, Friends, Matthew Perry was found dead at his home in the Pacific Palisades of Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, 28 October. It was reported that the 54-year-old actor was unresponsive in his hot tub at his home. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of his death, with experts cautioning that it might take weeks or months for the cause to be determined.

Before his death, Matthew made several strange social media posts referencing Batman in his final days, referring to himself as “Mattman.” Some of his fans on his Instagram, have since expressed concern over the strange posts, suggesting –- in light of his death – they were perhaps a cry for help.

South Korean actress Park Soo-ryun, who played a supporting role in BLACKPINK's Jisoo and Jung Hae In's Snowdrop (2021), was pronounced dead on June 11 when she fell down a flight of stairs while returning home. The actress, 29, was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment but it was too late as she was brain dead, despite multiple attempts to revive her. Following her death, her bereaved family members decided to donate her organs to help patients in need and to honour her warm and kind personality.

Jung Chae-yul, 26, was pronounced dead at her home in April. The news of her death was confirmed by her agency, Management S, without disclosing the cause of her death. Jung Chae-yul began her career as a model and appeared in a fashion survival show called, Devil’s Runway in 2016. After modelling, she transitioned into acting and was featured in shows like Deep (2018) and Zombie Detective (2020).

Euphoria star, Angus Cloud, died at the age of 25 in July. It was reported that the actor passed on in his family's home in Oakland, Calif. According to E! Online, the coroner’s report revealed that the cause of his death was a result of a lethal combination of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and more. His death is being ruled as an accidental overdose.

Tina Turner needs no introduction. Dubbed the 'The Queen of Rock 'n' Roll', the star was reported to have died peacefully in her home in Zurich at the age of 83, after battling a long illness.

Astro member, Moonbin, passed on on 19 April at just 25 years old. According to the police report, Moonbin appears to have committed suicide. The authorities are still debating performing an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of his demise.

You might have heard of the eponymous brand Paco Rabanne. The man behind the label, Francisco Rabaneda Cuervo, more commonly known under the pseudonym of Paco Rabanne, who’s known for his unique fragrances and innovative design materials, passed on earlier this year in February at the age of 88 at his home in France. However, up till this date, the cause of his death has not been released to the public.

Singer, songwriter and child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley has died at the age of 54. It was reported that the star died while she was rushed to the hospital due to a bowel obstruction, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office has said. The obstruction was a result of adhesions caused by weight-loss surgery she underwent several years ago.
