Damn
Missed a day.
Went out to dinner with my mom and her husband yesterday. Got back and watched the Pats ream the Bills. Didn’t post a damn thing. Oops.
I gotta be honest, lately I’ve been having doubts on original artwork. Commissions are clear and concise. I know what I have to do. The series I’ve been working on? I’ve already turpentined a canvas earlier today after working on it for an hour. I’m trying to keep myself from leaving the house and throwing in the towel for the day. I take it way too hard when the picture in my head doesn’t translate to the canvas. I chalk it up to either me not having any schooling or me just not being good enough to get it done.
I just don’t think I’m cut out for original work.
If you can get over having a painting look like what’s originally in your head, it makes life a lot easier. It often becomes something way more interesting too. Easier said than done, I know, but this is a familiar artistic complaint. Good luck. Your stuff is worth the effort.
Thanks for the tip. I’m just releasing the whine valve. I’m about to hit the canvas again post-lunch.
Those are the days that make me more appreciative of the others when the work happens as if by magic. Your work is beautiful. Don’t give it up.

Excuse me, but your original brain came up with the original art of fighting trucks. Do you have any idea how many people covet my trucks, the ones that you did? Even my friend’s 65 year-old mom, (who is very lady-like) commented, “they’re beautiful”.
Look man, I can’t live in a world where the person who invented truck wars gives up on doing his own whacked out original ideas. Keep it up.
