If you know of the Korean obsession with using blood types as a personality indicator, then you wouldn’t be surprised to know they love another sort of personality categorisation tool—the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator, more commonly referred to as the MBTI personality test. The MBTI test assigns a person a binary trait to each of four categories: introversion or extraversion (I or E), sensing or intuition (S or N), thinking or feeling (T or F), and judging or perceiving (J or P), making up a total of 16 combinations.

Since it’s all the rage among South Koreans, here are the MBTIs of some Korean idols and actors so you can check to see which Korean celebrity has the same MBTI personality as you.

ISFJ

With introverted (I), observant (S), feeling (F), and judging (J) traits, the ISFJ personality type is also known as the Defender. Those of ISFJ personality types are warm to others and are responsible workers.

TWICE’s Dahyun and Jeongyeon, and SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan all fall within this type, and it’s certainly been proven that these few are reliable friends and hardworking members of their group.

ISTP

The ISTP (Virtuoso) possesses introverted (I), observant (S), thinking (T), and prospecting (P) traits. Those who are of this type march to the beat of their own drum. They’re independent and true to themselves, and that’s probably what makes BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, LE SSERAFIM’s Chaewon, and TWICE’s Mina standout idols in the industry.

ESTJ

Extraverted (E), observant (O), thinking (T), and judging (J), ESTJs are also known as Executives. They make sensible judgements and are valued for their strong sense of right and wrong, making them great leaders in times of uncertainty, so count on SEVENTEEN’s Joshua and actor Lee Min Ki to step up when needed.

ENTJ

Those with the Commander personality type hold extraverted (E), intuitive (N), thinking (T), and judging (J) traits, and are charismatic, confident, and inspiring. True enough, it was revealed on an episode of Dokkaebi: Wisdom Hunters that SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu was integral to the group re-signing their contracts in 2022, by frequently bringing up the heavy topic in conversations with his bandmates in a positive manner, and strengthening the members’ resolve to stay together as a team.

INTJ

Private and complex individuals, INTJs (Architect) are of introverted (I), intuitive (N), thinking (T), and judging (J) traits. They allow their curiosity to guide them as they apply a great balance of creativity and rationality in all aspects of their lives. In addition, they’re rarely satisfied with stagnancy in their career pursuits, a quality clearly seen in actress Kim You Jung, who has taken on a bunch of different genres from rom-com to historical dramas, and even expanded into theatre in 2023.

INTP

The INTP is a bearer of introverted (I), intuitive (N), thinking (T), and prospecting (P) traits. As the Logician type, those who fall under this category, such as BTS members Jungkook and Jin, and LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura, are characterised by their vigorous intellectual abilities, and are imaginative and curious people at their core.

INFP

One of the most common personality types among idols, INFPs are known as mediators and hold introverted (I), intuitive (N), feeling (F), and prospecting (P) traits. Interestingly enough, INFPs aren’t known to seek the spotlight, yet are drawn to self-expression through the performing arts, which is probably why some of the most popular K-pop idols such as V, Sunmi, and Hyunjin are of this type.

ENTP

The ENTP Debater is a personality type that possesses extraverted (E), intuitive (I), thinking (T), and prospecting (P) traits. These ones are quick-witted in social settings, as well as playful and energetic, making them great fun to be around, which is the case with SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan and Vernon.

ENFJ

ENFJs are natural-born leaders and love helping others thanks to their extraverted (E), intuitive (N), feeling (F), and judging (J) traits. That explains why EXO’s leader Suho and Stray Kids’ leader Bang Chan are of the Protagonist archetype, as well as Dino of SEVENTEEN, who’s the oldest sibling in his family.

INFJ

The INFJ Advocate is primarily characterised by their thoughtful and principled in their approach to all things, bearing the introversion (I), intuitive (N), feeling (F), and judging (J) character traits. Some K-pop idols who fall under the INFJ category are J-Hope, Yunjin, and Beomgyu.

ENFP

With extraverted (E), intuitive (N), feeling (F), and prospecting (P) qualities, ENFP Campaigners are free spirits who are both lively and open-minded. In their work, ENFPs look for an outlet to express their creativity and add value to the world, which is something BTS’ RM seems to pursue through his music, philanthropy, and just last year—his public relations ambassadorship with South Korea’s Ministry of National Defense Agency.

ESTP

Action speaks louder than words for the ESTP Entrepreneur type, who possess extraverted (E), observant (O), thinking (T), and prospecting (P) characteristics. Bold, direct, and practical, those with this personality type are go-getters and thrive in tense, competitve environments, and it’s likely you might see these traits in the likes of Jimin of BTS and Taehyun from TXT.

ISFP

ISFP Adventurers are marked by their adaptable nature, and therefore exceptionally tolerant and nonjudgmental towards others. They’re mostly very humble and don’t see how truly remarkable they are, especially when they’re in their element as artists, musicians, photographers, or any job that engages their senses. Among the South Korean celebrities, SHINee’s Onew, TWICE’s Nayeon and Tzuyu, and Stray Kids’ Lee Know belong to this category.

ESFP

Loud, boisterous, and often the life of the party, the ESFP Entertainers have extraverted (E), observant (O), feeling (F), and judging (J) traits and enjoy making others happy. It’s no wonder RIIZE’s Shotaro, TWICE’s Jihyo, and Stray Kids’ Changbin are great performers on stage and off, entertaining the crowd with not just their vocals and dance moves, but their witty quips and jokes as well.

ESFJ

For ESFJ Consuls, life is nothing without having the right community. They are people-oriented and are all about encouraging others, making them the bedrock of any team they’re in. So with two ESFJ members in the group (Felix and Seungmin), Stray Kids’ bond is likely as strong as it gets.

ISTJ

RIIZE’s Wonbin and VIVIZ’s SinB are both ISTJ Logicians with introverted (I), observant (O), thinking (T), and judging (J), and while they’re more reserved, they’re also strong-willed people who are disciplined and responsible—qualities that are essential for K-Pop idols, with their demanding training and schedules.
