Foreign places
My roommate works for a large tire manufacturer. He’s been to South America, all over Europe and even China. He’s been offered jobs in Prague and Sao Paulo. I still don’t even have a passport, but within a year I’ll have gone somewhere totally foreign and totally sweet. I promise this, and my artwork will get me there. It’s like Reading Rainbow or something. I can go anywhere. Just wag some brushes and voila. After this November I’ll have gone to three different states just on the steam of my art. I figure another year’s time will start to yield some foreign soil.
Speaking of, here’s a large piece I’m starting (3′x4′) of Old Taipei. Yes, the canvas is very purple right now, and while I’m on the subject of purple let me just say that I’m having NO luck finding my Purple Rain Halloween costume. I have no idea what I’m going to do. Enough about Prince, here’s the painting after a few hours yesterday.
I’m really going to try not to bounce around with this one. I’m going to try hitting color groups all around the same time. The darks, the warms, the cools, etc. I don’t want it to look unbalanced like I’ve noticed some of my recent pieces have. Hopefully I can slow my process down and really see more consistent results in the future pieces.

That’s my roommate Corey. My left foot has a pinball-sized lump on it from when I broke three bones in 8th grade.
I know that’s not you, silly. I’ve seen your feet plenty. His look almost feminine. I had to check the torso to make sure there were no breasts to confirm that it (he) wasn’t a girl.
