Fort Point obsession pt. 18
A while back I took the bike a few blocks down to Congress st after work one night when the night sky was deep deep blue to take photos of the Melcher/Summer st. area that I love so much. More specifically the neon sign atop the building that stands at the corner.

My camera is good, but not good enough on the night setting to get the kind of shot I wanted. I couldn’t adjust the aperture when it was on the night setting and I couldn’t get anything halfway decent unless it was on the night setting. I got a few pictures that were just … ok… and after 45 minutes of trying I went home.
Fast forward to a month or so later, Jenny sends me a link to this photo…

AH! That’s what I was going for. The sky is even cooler than the sky I had while shooting that night a while back.
It was taken by a dude Jon that Jenny has known for a while and I met last year at her Blogtoberfest event. He’s a contributor to the Bostonist as well.
Here’s some progress from the weekend…

Did I mention that the canvas is 6 ft wide and 4 ft tall? With human for scale purposes….

You know where to check for progress on this one.
My neighborhood! I love it! Sometimes I walk home from the Common or Downtown Crossing just to see this section of the city…
good god i love boston lighting.
