Oh man what a weekend.

Saturday my friends Frank and Karen finally got married in Frank’s parents huge backyard with a million friends around. That ruled. The rulingest part of the night was Frank’s brother Dave showing me his 30th bday gift.

One of these things.

Totally awesome.

Sunday I got to see Dio-era Black Sabbath. They are touring under the name “Heaven & Hell”. For those of you who didn’t know, back in the late 70’s Black Sabbath got so out of control with drugs that Ozzy ended up leaving and pursuing a solo career. The product of which can be heard after every down at Patriots games. Crazy Train.

After Ozzy a little man named Ronnie James Dio stepped in and handled the vocals for Black Sabbath for a few years. The two albums that they put out in the early 80’s got the stigma of “No Ozzy so it sucks”. It’s a shame too because they are great albums.

The past few times I’ve seen Dio live with his solo band they played some Dio-era Sabbath songs and I lost my shit. Throwing around jazz hands and yelping like a 15 year old girl seeing a shirtless Justin Timberlake walk into her slumber party.

I was equally jazz handy when I heard that the Dio-era Sabbath was doing a full on headlining tour with Queensryche and Alice Cooper.

Queensryche had a short set unfortunately and only played two older songs. They still sounded great though.

Alice Cooper never really tickled me too much but his performance was great and his voice is awesome. I’ve never really dug his tunes but man his voice rules. Bonus points for bringing Eric Singer from Badlands/Kiss out on tour to play drums. He’s one of the only drummers who are fun to watch even from the lawn seats.

Tomorrow is my birthday as I’ve said before. I’ll be in Nantucket so leave birthday wishes with my secretary.
