It’s time for a change. And by ‘change’, we mean glow up! Let 2025 be the year you give your beauty routine a refresh, be it for aesthetic reasons or just because you want to try something different. Here’s our guide on five ways to achieve this stylish transformation.

Oxygen facial

Intraceuticals oxygen treatment has been a favourite facial treatment for celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus and it has now made it to Singapore too.

These facials use hyperbaric oxygen infusion, sending luxurious vitamin- and nutrient-rich serums into the skin. With the combination of oxygen under pressure and cutting-edge technology, the specially-formulated serums are delivered to your skin more effectively and efficiently.

The method increases your skin’s absorption of the active ingredients, with a boost to your skin’s healing as well as added brightness. The perk of this facial is that it gives instant results with no downtime, which explains why celebs love it for that luminous red carpet look.

At local beauty establishment IDS Aesthetics, you can choose from two types of Intraceutical oxygen facials – IDS O2 Rejuvenate (O2R) and IDS O2 Opulence (O2O).

O2R provides instant hydration and reverses signs of ageing. It’s also suitable for dry or dehydrated skin. Meanwhile, O2O gives your skin a healthy glow and also diminishes pigmentation. Whether you want a fresh look for an important event or you just want a glow-up, these facials are your ticket to a Hollywood glow.

You can try these Intraceutical oxygen facials at IDS Aesthetics outlets, at $305.20 for each 60-minute treatments.

Individualism is in so take this concept straight to your hairdresser. Hair maestro Kim Robinson’s hair tip for 2025 is to look at your skin tone.

Kim is a firm believer that trends in colours for 2025 are not dictated by specific hues; instead, he believes that trends are influenced by individual skin tone and hair style. “Our (salon’s) approach involves customising colours to enhance both the skin tone and the specific haircut.

“For instance, we would apply the balayage technique on a long, layered haircut to achieve a sun-kissed effect for darker skin tones and opt for deeper, richer tones for those with lighter skin tones,” he adds.

When choosing a new hair colour for the year, Kim recommends one that is suited to your skin tone and can be maintained effortlessly. He advises to have an in-depth conversation with your stylist before deciding.

Even though there are no strict rules here, there are guidelines that hair experts like Kim follow: “Generally, we are not fans of orange and yellow hues on darker skin tones and recommend cool tones like browns or blondes. For lighter skin tones, the choices are limitless.”

The Kim Robinson flagship boutique at Ngee Ann City offers complimentary consultations with technical creatives to select the right style.

Semi permanent eyebrow treatment

Celebrities such as Lily Collins and Sabrina Carpenter are fans of full, perfectly groomed arches. If you want to achieve a similar look, consider a semi-permanent eyebrow embroidery treatment such as Brow Resurrection at Browhaus. This microblading treatment uses the finest multi-pins (one-time use only) to etch out intricate brow strands from base to end.

Try BR OMBRE at Browhaus, which uses life-like feathery strokes to fill and shape the brows for fuller-looking brows but with a gradient effect for a natural finish. Another offering is BR BLEND, which uses precisely-placed points and dots to create a soft powdered gradient brow for a defined look.

2025 is promising for anyone who loves eyebrow glam. Browhaus’ spokesperson lists trends such as bleached brows (for daring trendsetters), soft arches (subtle, natural shapes inspired by the ‘quiet luxury’ movement) and 3D brows (featuring layered textures and shades which create depth and fullness for a multidimensional effect).

Beauty treatments that harnesses exosomes

One of the latest breakthroughs in the beauty industry in 2024 is exosomes. These are small vesicles used by cells to communicate with other cells and influence their behaviour and function. Exosomes heal and regenerate skin and are also beneficial for hair regrowth. They also boost hydration and increase collagen synthesis. They are most effective when delivered through micro-needling and laser treatments.

Freia Medical and Aesthetics’ Exosomes Therapy Facial is a 90-minute treatment that delicately delivers micro-needles exosomes into the skin to stimulate new collagen and elastin production. The session includes a double cleansing and invigorating lymphatic drainage massage to boost circulation at the start, as well as a soothing green algae mask at the end. Benefits include inflammation regulation, diminished fine lines and wrinkles, improved skin elasticity and lightening of age spots.

You can also try Exosomes Hair Therapy there, which enhances hair follicle thickness and density, promotes hair growth and improves scalp health. Or select exosomes as a post-aesthetic-treatment add-on, for faster recovery and supercharged results.

Lip gloss, glazed donut, airbrushed nails...these trends have come and gone but what’s in store for us in 2025?

Manicurist Rebecca Chuang @theflutterytips says gold is making a comeback not only in terms of accessories but nails too. She likes mixing elements such as gold glitter, gold chrome or gold embellishments in her manicures.

Another hot trend is “a good mix of anything metallic with sweet vibes to it”. For example, chrome with Swarovski crystals or piercings, with handmade 3D nail parts.

What about nail shapes? “Almond and round shapes have been quite a classic norm soft look in recent years,” Rebecca explains. “Now, people are going back to the early 2000s for a more strong, powerful and edgy attitude look, which is square shape.”

And if you’re looking for a bolder look, claw nails is the way to go. Also known as cat claws, Rebecca reveals that this trend has even advanced to a longer version, known as dragon claws. She shares that it’s a favourite of local influencer Mae Tan, who was also one of the first to showcase this design.
