The Thai director and lead actress of the hit Thai film How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies will visit Singapore for a fan session.

According to organiser Golden Village, the event is being held to thank local moviegoers for their overwhelming support of the family drama, which follows a university dropout (Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul) who puts aside his dream of becoming a game streamer to care for his dying grandmother (Usha Seamkhum).

Film-maker Pat Boonnitipat, 34, and 78-year-old actress Seamkhum, who makes her film debut as the titular Amah, will be at GV Suntec City on June 24. A screening of the film starts at 6.50pm, followed by a fan meet-and-greet at 9.10pm.

Tickets are $18 for the public and $16 for GV Movie Club members and will be available from June 19, 6pm via all GV sales channels. For more information, visit the Golden Village website.

Since its release on May 30 in Singapore, the tearjerker has grossed $3.67 million in ticket sales as of June 17, making it the highest-earning Thai movie in Singapore and one of the highest-grossing movies this year so far.

In the 2024 local box-office rankings, it is now in fourth place, after local dramedy Money No Enough 3 ($4.88 million), animated comedy Kung Fu Panda 4 ($4.49 million) and action thriller Godzilla X Kong: A New Empire ($4.09 million).
