If you’re not into obvious labels and in-your-face logos, Little Liffner is the bag brand for you.

Paulina Liffner von Sydow, the founder of Stockholm-based Little Liffner, is one who prefers more muted and minimalist designs. In fact, it was exactly what inspired her to start the brand in 2012: “It was a counter-reaction to the ‘It-bag’ craze. I found it hard to find a refined handbag that didn’t come with a price tag of a two-week vacation, so I decided to create it myself.”

We got up close with Paulina to find out more about Little Liffner, her designs' forever appeal, and what's coming up next for her brand.

Paulina, who’s also the designer, counts social media and the sense of touch as inspiration.

“I play around with leathers and samples. It’s a physical process, a bit like sculpting,” she shares. It’s no wonder that many of the designs feature striking, feminine silhouettes that are worthy of showing off on IG.

The brand is well loved

Not only has Little Liffner won over the hearts of stars like Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber Baldwin, it has also been named Scandinavian Award Accessories Designer of the Year at the Elle Style Awards in Stockholm in 2015, and was nominated for Swedish design prize Guldknappen in 2016.

So, what’s next?

The brand is adding its first belt collection to its repertoire of leather goods. “I wanted to bring back belts and add something more interesting in the process,” shares Paulina.

“A good belt is a clever way to refine an outfit and revive old wardrobe favourites, which is great in a time when carefully curating your wardrobe is the way to go for conscious women. As with our bags, our belts make a subtle statement.”
