Lupe III
The weekend was working out and working. Friday I went to the gym in the afternoon for a free form workout. Had no plan for it when I got there.
One of the guys who seemingly lives there asked if I wanted to try out a crossfit workout. Sure why not?
The workout was called the “dirty thirty”. There are a million different variations of workouts with names like this. Filthy Fifty, etc. This particular one we did went like this, without rest:
30 body squats
30 box jumps
30 kettlebell swings
30 burpees
30 situps
30 pullups
30 medicine ball throws (wall ball)
The next morning when I went to the gym to spar I wasn’t that sore until I started sweating again. My muscles instantly filled with lactic acid. It was retarded. After some grappling I sparred three rounds with the kid who showed me the dirty thirty. He’s got a fight coming up and needed human punching bags. After sparring I agreed to check out another crossfit routine.
In ten minutes you do as many sets as you can:
5 pullups (any grip you want)
10 pushups
25 bicycle crunches
I managed to get 10 sets out in the time allotted. I went home and accidentally fell asleep for an hour or two after making a shake. When I woke up I felt like my muscle had been replaced with warm sponge cake. I’m still a bit sore today but nothing too bad. I’ll most likely go for a run since the gym’s closed today.
In painting news I made some progress on Lupe. I really enjoy working on this painting. It’s a fun project.
