Just like her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, the former Suits actress Meghan Markle has the fashion Midas touch. Anything Meghan wears practically sells out – from the outfit she wore for the announcement of her engagement to the Strathberry Midi Tote she held on her visit to Nottingham with her husband, Prince Harry.
From her age difference with Prince Harry to her biracial parentage, it is apparent that Meghan doesn’t quite fit into the cookie-cutter mould of a would-be duchess — and this is reflected in her sartorial choices. It seems that the philanthropist may have broken royal protocol by carrying a handbag with her to Nottingham instead of a clutch. According to Dailymail, etiquette experts claim that the Queen and Kate Middleton are always seen with clutch bags, which they usually grasp with both hands when handshakes are not possible.
As part of their visit to Nottingham back in 2017, the couple expressed their support to a World’s Aids Day charity fair organised by the Terrence Higgins Trust. To raise funds for the charity, the burgundy tote (from the original round of production) by Scottish label Strathberry that Meghan was spotted with was auctioned off on eBay.
The tri-colour tote nearly crashed the internet and sold out in 11 minutes on eBay after bidding commenced on 12 Dec 2017. And it was finally sold for a whopping £1,819, nearly four times the £495 retail price.
Nevertheless, if you failed to get your hands on the tri-colour bag, Strathberry is doing another round of production for the bag. Ahead, we've rounded up some of their new additions to its range that you can now get at its pop-up store right at Pedder On Scotts.
