Scroll through her Instagram feed and it shows you that seasoned actress Tan Kheng Hua has been travelling a lot lately. As a part of the talented Crazy Rich Asians cast (she plays mother to Constance Wu), Tan has been flying around to world to promote the acclaimed movie.

Her trusted travel companion? Uniqlo - for their ease of style and quality apparel. In fact, she loves them so much that they have partnered together for their latest autumn/winter ‘18 collection. The result? A travel-themed play titled Modest Travels (showing on 21st and 22nd September), a four-story production that showcases the romance of travel and the spirit of wanderlust.

We asked Tan Kheng Hua to share with us her top 10 travel-related from her must-haves to must-sees.

Destination

“I have always loved London and go there often. I love the Brit sense of humour, the way they communicate, the theatre there, the feeling in the street. I even love the gloomy London weather!”

Under-rated destination

“I love Malaysia. I feel it is terribly under-rated and more people from all over the world will get to experience all the different landscapes of the country.”

Holiday memory

4/11

“One of my most memorable holidays was with my daughter when she was in her PSLE year and she and I went to this place in Australia called Boshack Outback. No wifi, sleep in a comfy tent, emus walking about, next to a calm lake, I had to cook all our meals, and we did nothing all day but walk about the beautiful Australian outback. I wanted to make sure her PSLE year was filled with memories there were more than just studying for the exams. And I believe I was successful. We took lots of small trips that year to make sure the year is enjoyable and so much more than just exams.”

Way to explore the city

5/11

“I love to try out yoga classes abroad, just to see how different teachers in different cultures teach classes. I also love to go to supermarkets in new countries to check out what sorts of food products they have. Another thing I love to do is to go wander around drugstores and check out toiletries and cosmetics in other countries.”

“I don’t really believe in favourites because it is hard to just whittle it down to one. But I do love the Penang Laksa and Chendol (only the one with the metal spoon!) at Joo Hooi Kopitiam in Penang Road in Penang!”
