Natalie Portman is the face of the new Miss Dior Parfum
Plus, her best-kept secrets to help your perfume last longer

“This perfume adds a sense of maturity to Miss Dior. Miss Dior was always an ode to young women, but youth evolves, and this new scent captures the elegance of discovering your womanhood,” says Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman, who is fronting the new Miss Dior Parfum.
While the original Miss Dior will always have a permanent spot on her vanity, Portman was impressed by “how intense the scent [Miss Dior Parfum] was without being overwhelming. The fragrance has its own confidence.”
Dreamt up by perfume creation direction Francis Kurkdjian, the reincarnation of Dior’s iconic fragrance (first launched in 1947) is a woody and gourmand floral with notes of jasmine, wild strawberries, patchouli, Alaskan cedar and moss. If you’re fond of the original fragrance, you’ll love this modern, fresh iteration.
“The infusion of jasmine is spectacular. Francis Kurkdijan was incredibly meticulous about the extraction process and was committed to only harvesting the best jasmine. This care is reflected in the final fragrance,” adds Portman, who has been the face of Miss Dior fragrance since her first campaign with the French maison in 2011.
Here, the A-lister opens up about her relationship with perfumes and why she always does a walk through a fragrance cloud.
Is there a woman you know whose scent is so distinctive that it becomes a part of her personality?
“My mother. Fragrance has always been an important part of her routine and I remember when she taught me how to spray my perfume in front of me, and walk through it, letting the perfume engulf me from head to toe.”
“A woman seeking truth, love, and adventure.”
“I love scent and it feels central to our emotions. I love to spray my Miss Dior and walk through it, like my mother taught me, which has the sensual experience too of feeling like it’s a light rain of the most beautiful scent. Also, then it’s not too strong and ends up lightly in your hair which most people will smell most!”
“I got my first perfume bottle as a gift from Jean Reno when we finished filming Léon when I was 12, and I remember feeling really grown up. Perfume felt like a sign of womanhood to me.”
“I love light floral scents like jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom.”
“I think anything that requires you to choose what you like and what makes you happy is an expression of your individualism.”
