Owed Munny
The Munny show is this Friday and I’ve successfully put off working on it until the last minute. Woohoo.
A few weekends ago i went to tons of different hardware and hobby stores trying to find spray primer that would allow me to use oil paint on the little guy. No dice. Everything had acetone and other nasty stuff in it that would have eaten the vinyl figure to death. I just said the hell with it and I slathered him in gesso. The brush marks from the gesso lend itself to a rusty battleship metal look. Desert battleship. Does that make sense? Desert ship.
I have no sketch, no ideas, no nothing. I’m just painting this thing with tiny brushes and going off the top of my head. I must say it’s fun. It’s kind of like doodling on a pad of paper and doing a model car at the same time.
It definitely reminds me of the days when my nerdy ass would put miniature Hemi ‘cudas and Boss Mustangs together while listening to White Zombie. The main difference is that girls talk to me these days. No they don’t.
So here’s the Munny so far. He’ll be done either tonight or tomorrow. I’m running out to the store to get components for his head. I have a cool idea for it.

I saw an old friend recently. I used to hang out with this llama named Mickey back in the day. We caught up over a bucket of feed this past weekend.

Boy do we laugh whenever we get together.
Man, I hope that thing spit in your face.
Mickey? No way, A-hole.
Mickey is good people. Good drinkin’ buddy.
Just saying. It’d be pretty awesome if it spit in your face.
Are you wearing Serengetis?
Sports, my friend.
