Months ago my roomates offered me a ticket to the Police concert at Fenway. Good seats. Way too much money. Like $150. I mean, I figured hell would freeze over before Copeland and Sting got onstage with eachother without peeing in eachother’s eyes, and I enjoy some of their tunes, but I wouldn’t pay $150 to see them.

I can’t think of any act I’d pay that much to see these days. Damn. All my heroes are dead I think.

Well the concerts at Fenway came around this weekend and man did I luck out. Jenny’s dad is a dude who’s job affords him sweet extras every now and again. I don’t want to get into specifics on how, but Sunday night we got escorted onto the field for free. BAM. They were even serving free cups of pee! Look!

We went with Jenny’s sister and their roomate Ellen and Ellen’s cousin? no wait…nephew. Who’s like seven days younger than her somehow or something. Irish Catholicism.

Ellen and Kate are huge fans of all that is Sting. They were dancing and singing and being merry. They had a disposable camera with them and were taking the most happy pictures ever.

And then I got an idea and had Jenny take a photo with the disposable…

Ellen got the roll developed and had no idea that photo was taken. OH MAN WHAT A TASTY PRANK.

All in all the Police were damn good. Sting played a ratty old bass that sounded like shit, and Andy Summers played his ass off. Great phrasing. Sting’s voice… exact same as it was in the 80’s. At least to my ears. All that ashtanga kundalini pilates shit pays off I guess. Stuart Copeland pretty much looked like a retard that was listening to a story being read to him the whole time, but he is a great drummer. Hard hitter and commanded the kit with ease.

His drum faces reminded me of an old photo of my old drummer Phil that I doctored up a few years ago.

The progress on Fort Point continues!

Go post my link somewhere where people haven’t seen it. I have to save up for this new Stuart Copeland signature series headband I want.
