Recycle all your empty beauty containers to get free L’Occitane products
Here’s what L’Occitane will and won’t accept, and what they’ll give you in return
By Her World Team -
Instead of simply tossing your empties away when you reach the last pump of your toner or hit the final spritz of your favourite perfume, try being more environmentally-friendly with your beauty product disposal this year.
L’Occitane is making it a lot easier for us with their new recycling programme, called Big Little Things.
Believe it or not, they will accept empty beauty containers from any brand and they’ll recycle it for you. All you have to do is bring your containers to the L’Occitane outlet at Ion Orchard, Plaza Singapura or Vivocity starting from April 1, 2020. What's more, they will even reward you with complimentary L’Occitane products for your efforts.
What can you recycle?
Full-sized beauty empties from any beauty brand: shower products, hand washes, face care products (excluding sheet masks), shampoo and conditioner bottles, hair masks, non-aerosol sprays, body and hand lotions, deodorant sticks, fragrances, and candles.
Travel-sized empty beauty containers are accepted, however, they do not count towards redemption of treats.
What’s not accepted?
Due to mirrors in palettes and certain pigments in the formulas, makeup items are not recyclable.
Other non-recyclable items include hair styling products, toothpaste, mouth wash, feminine wash, nail polishes and removers, eye lotions, eye drops, hand sanitser as well as any beauty product in an aerosol can.
Prepping your empties
Wash the containers and dry them before dropping them off at the store. The staff will conduct a quick check to see if they are properly cleaned before accepting them.
With Loccitane’s recycling programme, you get a stamp for every full-sized empty accepted. With every 10 stamps collected, you can redeem a L'Occitane beauty product, such as a 35ml Cherry Blossom Shower Gel or a 5ml Immortelle Reset.
