Ilo Ilo

In Ilo Ilo, a domestic helper leaves the Philippines to work in Singapore for a couple and their spoilt son. Over time, she strikes up a friendship with her young charge and they share a unique bond. The critically-acclaimed movie has won many awards, including the prestigious Caméra d'Or award in 2013.

I Not Stupid

I Not Stupid is a comedy film about the lives of three students in the now-defunct EM3 academic stream. The hilarious film was a hit not just because it was funny, but also because it was critical of many aspects of Singapore society. It also highlighted the pressures of the gruelling education system on both parents and children.

This heartwarming film tells the story of a boy who loses his sister’s only pair of shoes and has to share his with her. He then joins a running race to win a new pair of shoes for her. Set in 1965, it offers a glimpse into a time when many Singaporeans struggled with poverty but still enjoyed the simple pleasures of a kampung life.

Ah Boys To Men II
