Son Ye-jin fans would be clued in on Thirty-Nine, a South Korean drama that delves into the lives of three friends as they navigate friendship and love as they are about to turn 40. In the show, Son Ye-jin plays a dermatologist who runs her own practice. To reflect her character's stature and success, she wore many impressive classic luxury watches in the show that had us eyeing her wrist a lot. Keep scrolling to find out which timepieces she wore.
In the show, Son Ye-jin wore Jaeger-LeCoulture's most iconic flip-style watch, the Reverso Classic. Drawing on Art Deco aesthetics, the rectangular case is elegant and classy while being flanked by two rows of diamonds. This watch has a silver opal face on one side and a blue lacquered dial on the other, making it flexible for both day and night.

The Reverso Classic also has a single-sided version, with a dial and an engraved surface. The dial features Arabic numerals, and there are various colours of alligator leather straps to choose from. Son Ye-jin wore a black strap to match her black suit for an ultra-professional look in episode 5.

As the show features women at the cusp of hitting 40, the styling reflects the maturity and wisdom of their age. This rose gold mechanical watch appeared many times. Here, Son Ye-jin paired it with Piaget Possession rose gold earrings to exude a polished image befitting of her character's status.

If you're looking for a more accessible Piaget model, consider this one. Son Ye-jin wore this steel version to match her blue striped top, Delvaux handbag and Piaget Possession Open Hoop white gold earrings. The overall look was stylish without being too serious.

This Hermès watch also made a few appearances in Thirty-Nine. The Cape Cod watch was first conceived in 1991 by Henri d'Origny and has a unique silhouette of a square within a rectangle. The watch is also composed of two Chaîne d'Ancre links, another iconic motif created by Robert Dumas in 1938 that was inspired by anchor chains. While the watch looks rough and bumpy, it is actually a result of the beating technique used in the watch's craftsmanship.
A successful businesswoman knows to choose an elegant, good-quality watch. This Longines watch Son Ye-jin wore is just that -- cost-effective with excellent performance. The watch features Roman numeral hour markers that complement the rectangular watch face. We love how she paired it with a silk top to show off a relaxed yet professional side.
