Together with fashion insiders from across South-east Asia, we take a deep dive into Fall/Winter 2024 top trends to curate this shopping list just for you

Fashion editor Lena Kamarudin spoke to one of Singapore’s most stylish - entrepreneur Carol Loo - on her favourite trends from the Fall/Winter 2024 season and what she’s looking to buy. Both Carol and Lena also provided some expert tips on how to work these trends with some stylish visual inspiration as your guide.

Dress the Neckline

As temperatures dip, necklines rise. Many designers had fun experimenting with outrageous proportions for “turtleneck” tops (Alexander McQueen, we’re looking at you). But it’s not just about ultra-high necklines – brands like Carven and Emporio Armani also added distinct embellishments to elevate the neckline with unique details.

I actually really love this look, but it’s a runway piece to be admired. Commercially, they have the shearling version, which I may add on my Fall shopping list.

Bottega Veneta’s take on this trend with the colour and neckline contrasts is simple yet out-of-the-box.

Acne Studios’ knitwear is a modern masterpiece. The oversized turtleneck layered with a cropped top is a striking contrast that feels oh-so cool.

A little colour in the bleak of winter is always a good idea. Imagine how cute it looks when the hems of your sleeves are peeking out of your coat?

A quirky trend like this deserves a pair of quirky shoes to match. And I’m so tickled by this Jacquemus pair. It’s just genius!

SASSY SKIRT SUITS

Gone are the days when skirt suits were strictly office attire. Now, there are plenty of versions that take us from the boardroom to the beach. Some standout options this season include Marni’s provocative co-ord with the tiniest skirt and Louis Vuitton’s structured skirt suit combo with gloves – for me, it’s the gloves that add that special touch to the look.

Ottolinger’s designs blend strong, boss-woman vibes, and I’m loving the dropped waist! The unique silhouette is super edgy.

The easiest way to give the serious skirt suit a more casual vibe is a miniskirt option in a fun pastel colour, like this soft buttery yellow shade.

A novelty bag to match the attitude of this sassy trend speaks volumes of anyone daring enough to rock it.

This is what we call an ‘opposites attract’ kinda situation. The severity of a grey skirt suit styled with an oversized puffer jacket, and finished with the daintiest Mary Janes. Miuccia Prada works in ingenious ways.”
