Here's why Barbie Hsu had to end her pregnancy

Although it has almost been a month since Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu announced her pregnancy, Barbie's management revealed on Monday that she has decided to end her pregnancy following her doctor's advice. 

According to Apple Daily, the 41-year-old had to terminate the pregnancy after it was found that the foetus had developmental problems and had to be monitored closely. A recent check-up then found that the foetus had no heartbeat, which led to the couple taking up the doctor’s advice to terminate her pregnancy.

Two months ago, the actress was hospitalised after having an epileptic fit as a result of a cold. After she recovered, she confirmed in April that she was seven weeks pregnant.

A media statement released stated that the actress was recuperating well and is in the care of her family.

She has a daughter and a son with her husband, Wang Xiaofei, who is a Chinese businessman. She rose to fame following her role in hit Taiwanese drama, Meteor Garden.
