Beyond the National Day celebrations this August, Singapore is abuzz with loads of activities and events for you to check out over the next few weeks. Foodies will be treated to a slew of new restaurant openings and menus, while those looking for something fresh and exciting can look out for the new and upcoming pop-ups and festivals that are sure to fill your weekend schedules.
With an exciting and action-packed calendar for the month ahead, here, we have gathered some of the latest events that you can check out with your friends and family.
Sing along to your National Day favourites this weekend at SingNation! Held at Capitol Singapore, the event returns for its fifth edition, of which, you can expect an evening filled with trivia games, stories about Singapore and of course, sing-along sessions where you can belt your heart out to your favourite NDP songs. The evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks display from the nearby National Day Parade celebrations at 8.15pm.

Films at the Fort is back this year for its 10th anniversary! Held at the amphitheatre of Fort Canning Park, you can expect a myriad of award-winning films that you can catch over the next few weeks. Some of the popular titles that you can expect include Bob Marley: One Love (1 August), Challengers (2 August), Oppenheimer (8 August), and Mean Girls (11 August). To elevate your experience, Films at the Fort will also be serving up some delicious cocktails and grub at the historic Fort Canning Green.

If you’re finding more reasons to spoil your pet(s) this weekend, then you’ll want to check out the Singapore Pet Festival at the Sands Convention Centre. Happening this weekend, the festival invites pet lovers to immerse themselves in exciting workshops and competitions. At the event, you’ll also get to connect with other like-minded pet enthusiasts and it’s the perfect opportunity for you to stock up on your pet’s essentials, be it toys, food, and everything in between.

Are you a rum enthusiast? You’re in for a treat! This weekend, the Singapore Rum Festival is celebrating one of the most versatile spirits in the world with a two-and-a-half-day festival that will feature over 20 brands, including Santa Teresa, Diplomatico, and Ron Colon. Expect insightful masterclasses where you’ll learn more from the rum experts themselves. Plus, there will be a daiquiri challenge where bartenders will compete with one another to make the best daiquiri.

Legendary DJ / producer Sasha will be helming the decks at MDLR Singapore on Satuday for one night only. An influential figure in electronic music, Sasha emerged into the scene in the late ‘80s and quickly became a well-known DJ, along with John Digweed, during the ‘90s and early 2000s.
He has made remixes for stars like Madonna and Moby, plus his own releases on his label emFire. As part of his set, you can expect a unique blend of techno, ambient, breaks, and electronica, that are guaranteed to keep you dancing all night long.

BARSTARS, the annual cocktail event organised by Singapore’s craft spirits brand, The Orientalist Spirits, is back for its second edition this weekend. Held on 3rd August, 10 top-tier bartenders from some of the most reputable bars across the Asia Pacific will take over Millim Bar to serve some of the most innovative cocktails. The talented bartenders attending the event include those from Bar Leone and Argo (Hong Kong), Tax Bar and BKK Social Club (Thailand), Bee’s Knees (Japan), Hope & Sesame (China), Alice Cheongdam (Korea), with Millim Bar and Sky Bar representing Singapore.

Sprint Fest 2024 is back for its second consecutive year.
