Beyond the National Day celebrations this August, Singapore is abuzz with loads of activities and events for you to check out over the next few weeks. Foodies will be treated to a slew of new restaurant openings and menus, while those looking for something fresh and exciting can look out for the new and upcoming pop-ups and festivals that are sure to fill your weekend schedules.
With an exciting and action-packed calendar for the month ahead, here, we have gathered some of the latest events that you can check out with your friends and family.
30 August to 1 September
Fitness and Wellness Event (31 August to 1 September)
Asia’s biggest fitness and wellness event is set to debut in Singapore this weekend. Following its success in Hong Kong, this highly anticipated fitness and wellness event is coming to life with an electrifying lineup for all fitness enthusiasts. Whether you’re into dynamic stage classes, cutting-edge programs, or high-energy competitions like Hyrox and the Singapore Dodgeball Championships 2024, there’s something for everyone here this weekend. For those planning to stock up on some fitness equipment or accessories, you can also expect over 100 brands at the exhibition, showcasing the latest products, technology, and gadgets.

Salomon Dusk Series 002 (28 September)
While we’re on the topic of fitness, Salomon will be bringing back its second instalment of Salomon’s Dusk Series this Wednesday. As part of the scenic run, attendees can look forward to a scenic night run around Bugis where they will also experience the different festival spots in the Singapore Night Festival. Led by Salomon Trail Running Ambassadors Chris and Aurore, this duo will also share valuable running tips to elevate your fitness journey.

Singapore Red Cross’ 75th Anniversary Pop-up (30 August to 6 October)
Singapore Red Cross will be celebrating its 75th anniversary with a slew of pop-ups across the island from 30 August to 6 October. These pop-ups, hosted at venues like HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir Clubhouse, Tampines West CC, Suntec City, and more, will offer an exciting lineup of activities for all ages. Visitors can also get a sneak peek into the Red Cross’s future initiatives, including their adoption of new technologies and programs designed to tackle societal challenges.
At the pop-ups, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the exclusive SRC x Peanuts™ merchandise, featuring items like the adorable Snoopy plush, bucket hat, sling bag, and enamel pins. Plus, don’t miss out on the specially crafted SRC ice cream, created in collaboration with Creamier.

Negroni Flight at Intercontinental Singapore (1 September to 30 September)
Ahead of Negroni Week that’s happening from the 16 to 22 September, fans of the iconic cocktail can indulge in a month-long celebration at The Lobby Lounge at Intercontinental Singapore from 1 to 30 September. As part of the Negroni Flight, guests can indulge in variations of the classic libation which includes the smoky Mezcal Passion Negroni and round out your experience with drinks like the Wugroni.

Solid Ground 1st Anniversary with Global Sensation Alan Dixon (30 August)
In celebration of Solid Ground’s first anniversary, the local music collective and label will be teaming up with London-based DJ Alan Dixon to host a big party at 97 Duxton Rd this Friday, 30 August. Renowned for his mastery in house music, DJ Alan Dixon’s talents have graced iconic venues and festivals such as Circoloco, Hï Ibiza, Watergate, and Monegros, while his influence extends globally through tours in Australia, Mexico, and across Europe.
Promising an unforgettable night of revelry, DJ Alan Dixon joins forces with local talents Stephen Day, Chichi, Danny Higgins, and Salta. Together, they’re set to light up the dance floor with the hottest House and Afro beats, promising a night of electrifying rhythms you won’t want to miss.

Singapore Night Festival (23 August to 7 September)
Singapore Night Festival is back for its fifteenth edition from 23 August to 7 September 2024. Known as Singapore’s largest nocturnal experience, the event will be taking over the central precinct over the next three weekends. In this year’s theme, Art of Play, visitors can look forward to exploring the concept of play and childhood as inspired by the historical significance of the precinct as the birthplace of some of Singapore’s first schools. Here, you can expect over 50 programmes including highlight acts like Wonder World – The Machine of Nostalgia by local contemporary artist Sam Lo “SKL0”, vibrant and interactive Night Lights installations, projection mapping artworks as well as other exciting performances and programmes.

BEES by NARISAWA Preview (From 19 August)
This weekend, Mandala Club, will be introducing BEES by NARISAWA, a 5-week preview featuring Yoshihiro Narisawa, the No. 1 chef from Asia’s 50 Best and World’s 50 Best Restaurants lists. Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa, a two-Michelin-starred culinary master, has been a consistent presence on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list since 2008 and received the Chef’s Choice Award in 2018. This also marks his second global dining venture outside Tokyo in two decades, following the launch of NARISAWA Shanghai in August 2023.
Paying homage to Tokyo’s homegrown street culture, Chef Narisawa has curated a special menu that features thoughtfully elevated dishes that use sustainable Japanese produce, European cooking techniques, charcoal-grilled meats, and meticulously sourced seafood. The experience also features a 700-bottle wine list focused on Old World labels, a selection of Dom Perignon Champagnes, and exclusive hand-brewed sake from Masuizumi by Masuda Sake Company.

Frida Forever Exhibition (4 May to 1 September)
Seeking escapism with a purpose? Slip on your best florals and clashing prints, and step into Frida Forever — an exploration of the influential artist’s colourful inner world. Strap in for a whimsical ride on the Exquisite Corpse VR Experience that will whisk you away into another universe, all from the confines of Frida’s bed in Mexico. Having suffered multiple disabilities her entire life, Frida’s mission was to transform her pain through her passion.

Discarded Spirits Co. Zero-Waste Menu at Analogue (22 August to 15 September)
This August, Discarded Spirits Co., an eco-conscious brand from the William Grant & Sons family, arrives in Singapore with their award-winning, zero-waste spirits. By reimagining waste from the F&B industry, they’ve created unique offerings like Sweet Cascara Vermouth, Banana Peel Rum, and Grape Skin Vodka.
To have a taste of the spirits, swing by Analogue located at CHIJMES to check out some of the most innovative cocktails made by Melbourne’s BYRDI and pair your meal with some exquisite and interesting dishes by zero-waste Portuguese restaurant, SEM.

PAST EVENTS
Waterbomb Singapore (24 to 25 August)
After a long wait, Waterbomb Singapore will be arriving on our shores this weekend. Since its inception in 2015, the Waterbomb Festival has been an annual sensation. As the name suggests, expect a deluge of water-themed activities set to the backdrop of electrifying performances by K-pop, K-hip-hop, and EDM artists, both Korean and local.
The lineup for the inaugural festival includes hard hitters like Jay Park, Jessi, Loco, Rain, Sandara Park and CL, as well as popular stars Chung Ha, Bibi, Kwon Eunbi, Viviz, dance group Bebe and more. Local performers who will be making an appearance include Haven, lullaboy, Alyph and more. In addition to the music, the festival offers a plethora of attractions including photobooths, water gun battles, and exhilarating water cannons firing off during the performances.

Pop Toy Show 2024 (23 to 25 August)
Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural exhibition last September, POP MART will be having its second edition of its Pop Toy Show this weekend at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, from 23 to 25 August 2024.
Leading the show this year is Dimoo, a top fan favourite from POP MART. With the theme “Dimoo in the Garden City,” the 2024 event promises an even more thrilling experience with a larger lineup of international, regional, and local artists, participating brands, and exclusive collectable art toys for fans and collectors.

Journalling for Success with Sleepy Tofu (24 August)
As part of the new University. Ready. series, Apple will be hosting a slew of workshops over the next few weeks where you can learn more about illustrating on your iPad. Hosted by your favourite local illustrators, this week, guests can expect to learn how to journal like a pro with content creator, Sleepy Tofu, as she will be sharing how journalling enriches her learning, helping her to structure and visualise thoughts, retain information and plan for success. During the workshop, you will be provided with an iPad and Apple Pencil, which you’ll use to learn how to journal on Apple’s Freeform app.

Formula 1 #RevUpSG Festivals (24 to 25 August)
Leading up to the Formula 1 race in Singapore that will be happening in a month’s time, fans can look forward to a slew of exciting activities that will be happening across the island over the next few weeks. This weekend, the #RevUpSG Festival will be happening at One Punggol from the 24th to 25th of August. At the pop-up, fans will be treated to a wide range of F1-themed activities, such as having a go at race simulators, feeling the thrill of racing in an open-cockpit vehicle, and getting a first look at the official 2024 Singapore GP merchandise. Plus, Formula 1 fans can rally together to watch live screenings of the Dutch Grand Prix.

Yoga Movement X Access SG X Oatside Charity Classes (24 August)
This month, Yoga Movement will be teaming up with Oatside to support social mobility charity Access Singapore with two charity classes. Happening on the 24th of August at Yoga Movement Alexandra and Yoga Movement Holland Village, attendees can book an appointment for 1 class credit via Yoga Movement’s app or ClassPass. Refreshments will also be provided by Oatside after each of the classes.
The funds raised from these classes will be used by Access SG where it will help scale its student programmes and advocacy efforts in the next quarter.
The Laboratory by RF: Customise Your Own Keyboard

Play:Date - Unlocking Cabinets of Play (3 July to 5 Jan 2025)
When looking back on our fondest childhood memories, there is bound to be one related to a favourite toy – be it playing with dolls, racing with mini-cars, or being engrossed in gaming consoles. Starting 5 July 2024, the National Museum of Singapore (NMS) invites visitors to relive and connect over these nostalgic memories in a new toy-themed experiential pop-up titled Play:Date – Unlocking Cabinets of Play. The pop-up is developed as part of the Museum’s Collecting Contemporary Singapore initiative, which aims to showcase and collect memories and objects from recent decades. In line with this, the Museum worked with local toy collectors and artists to co-create this immersive showcase comprising large-scale artworks, extensive toy displays, and interactive experiences to tell the fascinating stories behind some of these beloved playtime icons of the past and trace their evolution across the years.
