August is coming to a close, and what better way to conclude the month than with some thrilling activities with your loved ones. Throughout the week, we were treated to special appearances by South Korean actor Woo Do-hwan, at the Lancome Advanced Genefique Pop-up where we got to celebrate the brand's top-selling Advanced Génifique serum. But don't worry if you missed the chance to meet him; you still have an opportunity to take home a Lancome Advanced Genefique serum bottle autographed by Woo Do-hwan himself or receive a skin consultation using the brand's cutting-edge Skin Screen analysis machines at the pop-up located right outside Ngee Ann City.

However, if you're in search of a fresh venue to spend time with friends or perhaps a new location for a first date, make sure to visit White Shades. This recently opened cocktail haven in Telok Ayer, helmed by JiaWei Bai, co-founder of one of Asia's 50 Best Bars in 2023, Stay Gold Flamingo, promises a variety of experiences that will tantalise your taste buds. Imagine enjoying boozy gelatos on the dessert floor, savoring unique cocktail creations on the rooftop, or relishing custom-crafted draft beers and cocktails paired with a fusion of Asian cuisine. White Shades is destined to become the go-to spot for everyone this weekend.

Check out GIFFEST at the Singapore Night Festival

Dive into a captivating visual spectacle that explores imperfection from both the lens of design and as a social issue at GIFFEST, part of the Singapore Night Festival. This exhibition showcases more than 80 animated artworks created by local and global artists, serving as a poignant reminder of the chokehold perfectionism has on our culture and, conversely, the allure of the raw, unrefined aspects of human expression.

During its final weekend, GIFFEST will introduce 'Rift-scapes,' a specially crafted installation by Singaporean light artist Flex and sound designer Axel Serik. This immersive experience envelops the audience in visuals that react to sound, guiding them on a journey across the past, present, and future through ever-changing landscapes that incorporate elements of Middle Road, the National Design Centre, Bugis, and the Singapore River, among other highlights of "Singapore, the Great Port City."

RIFTSCAPES (2023) for GIFFEST III by EYEYAH! is located at GIFFEST at National Design Centre, 111 Middle Road
