Artbox Singapore (26 Jan to 28 Jan, 2 to 4 Feb)

Much like its previous edition, Artbox Singapore will be returning to Singapore Expo Hall 2, over two weekends, specifically from 26 to 28 January and 2 to 4 February from 12pm to 11pm. Dubbed Singapore's largest all-day, creative night festival, the event first originated in Thailand in 2014 and was quickly recognised as Asia's first and largest container market. And much like the previous festivals, here, you can expect tantalising street food, exhilarating arts, games and live performances.

Opening of Nike Orchard Road

Nike's new outlet at Orchard Road is more than just a store, it's a sports hub. Spanning three levels across a 28,000 square feet space, the store is Nike’s largest in Asia, outside of China. Here, the store highlights Nike's online-to-offline services, immersive digital experiences, and a curated selection of Nike and Jordan Brand products for athletes of all ages. With a strong commitment to empowering women and girls in sports, the store focuses on delivering the latest fitness innovations tailored for women, including footwear, bras, and leggings. Oh, and not to forget, the  Swoosh Studio also provides a multifunctional space for sports, wellness, and creativity where Nike Trainers and Coaches will be hosting a slew of fitness and wellness programmes, along with style and creativity workshops.

The Guild's New Menu

As an extension of Young Master Brewery, The Guild boasts a captivating island bar featuring 18 craft beer taps. Imported mainly from their Wong Chuk Hang and Ap Lei Chau breweries, the list showcases 16 house brews, including 7 core ranges and 7 limited-edition Young Master beers. The drinks menu offers a variety of portions, from 200ml to 1.4L Jugs.

The expanded drinks list now includes Draft Cocktails on tap, such as the classic sweet-salty Higher than Salted Lime and Guildhouse G&T using Greater Than gin. Cocktails-wise, Plumsella is a refreshing concoction that expertly blends the vibrant flavours of sour plum and the floral notes of rosella – showcasing The Guild's commitment to innovative mixology with an Asian twist.

Head Chef Alton Huang has also designed a menu to pair with drinks, featuring comfort flavours and new additions like the Good Ol’ Mac ‘N Cheese, which features The Guild's signature aged cheddar, skilfully incorporated into a patty with a smear of mushroom mayo and a touch of chili jam, all nestled between homemade bread. Snacks include Chye Poh Hummus and classic Fish Fritters, while larger sharing options include the Wild Mushroom Rice, a medley of sautéed mushrooms, including White, Swiss Brown, Chanterelle, and Shiitake, is expertly combined with pickled wood ear, resulting in a delightful risotto-meets-claypot-rice hybrid. The dish is elevated with the addition of egg yolk, fried shallots, scallions, and a creamy butter sauce, creating a harmonious ensemble of flavours. For fried chicken lovers, Alton’s Fried Chicken is a crispy half chicken brined for 8 hours.

To conclude the meal on a sweet note, Stout ‘N Coffee Tiramisu offers a taproom-inspired dessert with stout-soaked ladyfinger biscuits and mascarpone mousse.

Glenfiddich Chinese New Year Pop-up (25 January to 4 February)

This Chinese New Year, Glenfiddich has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artist Raku Inoue to create a collection of limited-edition gifts that embodies the essence of the brand, drawing inspiration from the vast outdoors. As part of the launch, the brand will also be hosting a pop-up experience at Suntec City from 25 January to 4 February where guests will get to try their hands at the interactive games and stand a chance to win a bottle of Glenfidditch or pop by the pop-up bar to try the Chinese New Year inspired Glenfiddich highball.

Singapore Art Week (19 Jan to 28 Jan)

Immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Singapore Art Week (SAW) 2024, where a diverse array of programmes awaits visitors of all ages and backgrounds. During this period, film aficionados can delve into thought-provoking screenings, while those craving interactive experiences can engage in workshops and insightful discussions with SAM’s esteemed curators and artists. Among the standout highlights is “Critical Alliances,” an exploration of the practices and research threads of SAM’s resident artists, curators, and community organizers through captivating soundscapes, screenings, and dynamic explorations of public space in Singapore. Another captivating offering is “Tinggi Layang,” an audio-visual concert inspired by the Indonesian trance dance of Dolalak, part of the ongoing CosmicWander project by artist Choy Ka Fai, delving into themes of coloniality, dance, and trance culture in Asia. Elevating the auditory experience, Sonic LIVE presents music jam sessions across two weekends, featuring the artistic duo NADA, Indonesian collective Raja Kirik, sound artist Bani Haykal, experimental musician George Chua, and NUS Electronic Music Lab.

Light to Night Singapore 2024 (19 Jan to 8 Feb)

Light to Night Singapore 2024 returns for its 8th edition this year. Happening from 19 Jan to 8 Feb, the festival will feature over 60 artworks and programmes ranging from interactive art installations, interdisciplinary programmes, mesmerising light projections, and live performances. Organised by National Gallery Singapore, this year’s theme “Reimagine”, will see artworks that encourage audiences to engage, approach, and participate in art through fresh perspectives.

Some of the few things that you can expect to see include activities like the Ping Pong Go-Round by Lee Wen at the National Gallery Singapore’s City Hall Wing, an interactive exhibition at National Gallery Singapore’s The Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium Foyer called Wishful Thinking by Whisperlodge, beautiful exhibitions like Wings of Change by Kumari Nahappan at the Padang Field and the National Gallery Singapore’s façade projection by Teo Eng Seng and Milosh Luczynski.

Elevate your dining and entertainment experience as LeVeL33, the world's highest urban microbrewery, with the launch of Live DJ Sessions and a tantalising new Weekender Menu. Crafted by Executive Chef Jake Kowalewski, the menu features delightful small plates, shareable mains, and signature roasts.

Kick off your meal with starters such as sustainably sourced Australian Kingfish and freshly shucked Oysters. The housemade hummus and baba ganoush, served with beer flatbread, is also a crowd favourite.

The main is definitely one to please: the bar's exclusive signature cut, the Koji & Spent Grain Dry-Aged Westholme Wagyu Rump Cap – a pasture-fed, and grain-finished beef with a beautiful, high-marbling that translates to a melt-in-your-mouth experience in each bite.

Cap off your meal with dessert, which includes an organic coffee and stout cappuccino panna cotta, and a tea tiramisu made from matcha, earl grey, Thai milk tea, and accompanied with vanilla mascarpone and pistachio.

Complementing this culinary journey are LeVeL33's Signature Drinks, such as the beer tasting paddle, which offers you 5 tasters of the brewery's craft brews, and cocktails such as Blond-ie and Cantarito.

In addition, the outdoor terrace also comes alive with live DJ sets by TheDJDispensary (@thedjdispensary), creating a vibrant atmosphere against the stunning Marina Bay skyline.

Opening of Salomons

The iconic modern mountain sports lifestyle brand Salomon has just opened its first-ever store in Southeast Asia. Located in Raffles City, the store boasts a full range of Salomon mountain sports and lifestyle products including outdoor, trail, running and not to mention, Salomon’s coveted Sportstyle Collection which includes the iconic XT-6 and X-ALP gr10k.

As part of the store's opening, Salomon is holding the spectacular Salomon Trail to City Exhibition on Level 3 Atrium of Raffles City from January 25 to February 14. The exhibition will showcase a unique display of the latest XT-6 styles and a preview of upcoming collaboration products. The space will also play host to several workshops over the next two weekends which you can participate in.
