2025 is finally here, and what better way to ring in the new year than with a slew of some of the coolest and trendiest events happening on our sunny island? Whether you’re looking for new spaces to explore with your loved ones or finding a new restaurant to check out with your beau over the weekend, we’ve got you covered. Ahead, a round-up of the latest events in Singapore this January.

Sentosa Festive Market (1 to 2 February)

Sentosa’s Festive Market is back this weekend with a special Valentine’s Day edition! Picture this: a romantic stroll along the beach, twinkling lights all around, and live music setting the mood. As you wander, you can explore a variety of market stalls, each offering unique trinkets. There’s also fun for the whole family, with plenty of activities for the little ones to enjoy. And if you’re single and ready to mingle, don’t miss the Singles Mixer happening on Saturday from 6pm to 8pm – where you’ll get the opportunity to mix around with others and try your hands on the different icebreaker games to stand a chance to win attractive prizes.

#My1stPapTest Cervical Cancer Screening (20 January to 15 March)

When was the last time you had a pap smear? If you can’t remember, it might be time to schedule one. The 365 Cancer Prevention Society’s #My1stPapTest campaign is back, running until 15 March 2025. Now in its second year, this annual initiative offers seven free cancer and health screenings to help empower individuals to take control of their health through early detection. The #My1stPapTest is available to women aged 25 to 69 who are sexually active or have been, and who hold a valid blue or orange CHAS card or a Public Assistance card. To sign up, eligible individuals can register on the 365CPS website.

Van Gogh and Gustav Klimt’s Immersive Exhibition (22 January onwards)

Ever dreamed of stepping into Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Klimt’s The Kiss, or Monet’s Water Lilies? This January, GROUNDSEESAW Singapore is bringing these masterpieces to life in a breathtaking 360° immersive art experience. With towering screens, emotive soundtracks, and stunning visuals, you’ll get to fully immerse yourself and connect with the world’s greatest artists. At the end of the exhibition, fans can also get their hands on some exclusive merch ranging from notebooks, to accessories as well as home and decor pieces, that are all inspired by some of your favourite paintings.

NPCC launches Objet 2 (24 January onwards)

Marking a bold evolution in NPCC’s creative journey, Objet 2 debuts on 24 January, offering a reimagined approach to jewellery as both art and experience. Guided by a philosophy of creativity and collaboration this innovative collection blends sight and scent, transforming everyday adornments into deeply personal expressions of identity and memory.

Created in collaboration with the visionary Naula Studio, Objet 2 exemplifies the synergy of artistic craftsmanship and conceptual design. Available exclusively at NPCC’s newly reimagined space at 58 Joo Chiat Place, the collection features two customisable pendants infused with your favourite fragrance using a reusable clay insert. Complementing this is the Incubator – a multifunctional clay home decor piece that doubles as a sculptural fragrance diffuser. A simple spritz of perfume transforms it into a sensory centrepiece, infusing your space with the lasting aroma of your favourite scent. 

Visit NPCC from 24 January to immerse yourself in this sensory journey and reimagine the possibilities of wearable art. With every purchase, visitors can also enjoy a complimentary incense cone crafting workshop with no appointments required.

Experience Objet 2 at NPCC, 58 Joo Chiat Place. Operating hours are on Thursdays, 2-9pm and Fridays to Sundays, 1-8pm.

POP MART’s Chinese New Year themed installations (from now till 28 February)

Can’t get enough of your favourite POP MART collectables? This festive season, POP MART will be taking over the Canopy Park at Jewel from now till 28 February. From Dimoo and Labubu to Molly and more, your favourite characters are waiting to meet you. Don’t forget to snap those Insta-worthy shots!

POP MART’s Chinese New Year themed installations are located at Canopy Park at Jewel Changi Airport.

Hennessy Kinetic Spring Garden (20 January to 2 February)

Stroll through a mesmerizing realm of blooming floral sculptures under elegant yellow-gold arches that mimic the graceful movements of snakes at the Hennessy Kinetic Spring Garden. The pathway, designed with a scaled texture inspired by the serpent, lights up in vibrant red with each step, while motion sensors bring nearby flowers to life.

But that’s not all. At precisely 8:18 PM daily, the entire installation comes alive in a breathtaking illumination, creating a visual spectacle you won’t want to miss.

Light to Night Singapore 2025 (17 January to 6 February)

As the marquee event of Singapore Art Week, Light to Night Singapore is back to light up the streets of Singapore from 17 January to 6 February. This year, the beloved festival invites you to explore the theme “Do You See Me?”—a thought-provoking celebration of our diverse, multifaceted identities through the lens of visionary local artists. With a special focus on amplifying perspectives from lesser-seen communities, the festival encourages visitors to “see and be seen” in a meaningful dialogue about identity and connection.

At the event, happening at the Civic District, you can expect over 70 dazzling artworks and programmes, including mesmerising projection mappings on iconic landmarks like the National Gallery, as well as immersive large-scale art installations, and interactive public events.

Light to Night Singapore 2025 is located at various locations within the Civic District.

KADA at Maxwell

Looking for a new hipster joint to check out this weekend? Look no further. KADA has just opened its doors this January and it will see a slew of new coffee joints and other lifestyle-forward brands. This new holistic lifestyle and wellness haven in Maxwell, housed within the historic charm of a 101-year-old conserved heritage building offers a unique multi-concept experience that invites you to eat, live, exercise, and thrive under one roof.

Coffee enthusiasts can look forward to new options such as Pacto by Parchmen, Kyuukei, Kit & Kaboodle, and Echo House located on the ground level, before going up to level two to check out wellness spaces like Eternami that’s known for its cutting-edge, AI-driven health solutions for longevity or enhance your mind-body connection with reformer and mat Pilates at Satori. Harry Potter: Visions of Magic (From 22 November)

Potterheads, this one’s for you! The long-awaited Harry Potter: Visions of Magic interactive art exhibition will be opening its doors this Friday, 22 November. At the exhibition, fans will be treated to 10 exciting and immersive spaces that will transport you to the wizarding world of magic. Inspired by some of the most iconic scenes from Harry Potter including two never-before-seen environments, like The Chamber of Secrets and The Trap Door. Cast your spells with your interactive wands and watch as the world of magic unravels before you. At the end of exhibit, be sure to swing by the retail store to grab some Harry Potter merch like their mystery wand boxes, or head straight to the Butterbeer bar to grab a cold one before ending your experience.

The Art of Banksy: Without Limits Exhibition (from 5 December)

If you’ve always been fascinated by Banksy’s works, then you’ll be glad to know that the acclaimed international exhibition The Art of Banksy: Without Limits is now in Singapore. Bringing the spirit of street art to an immersive exhibition close to you, the pop-up will house several experiential zones, which will see over 200 artworks such as certified originals, prints, photos, sculptures, installations, murals, and more. One of the highlights is the debut of a Walled Off Hotel style lobby, drawing inspiration from Banksy’s 2017 boutique hotel exhibition of the same name. Other must-sees include the “Dismaland” installations, the iconic “Phone Booth” sculpture, as well as a completely immersive “infinity room” full of mirrors and projections of Banksy’s artworks.

PAST EVENTS

ArtBox Singapore (17 to 19 January and 24 to 26 January)

Asia’s largest creative festival, ARTBOX is back this year with its most expansive edition yet. Happening across two weekends, the event will be taking over Singapore Expo Hall 4, of which you can expect over 600 food and retail vendors across Singapore, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong and Malaysia. With more than 90 food vendors, prepare to embark on a culinary adventure like no other. A must-try? Bangkok’s legendary After You dessert chain. Supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, they’re serving up their iconic Shibuya Honey Toast and sinfully rich Nutella Toast—desserts that are a hit with Bangkok’s foodies and are sure to win your heart (and stomach). You can also participate in a lucky draw and stand a chance to win an electric car worth SGD 90,000 (excluding COE) from VOLT Auto and check out the interactive workshops like perfume-making or DIY postcards, or unleash your competitive side at The Arcade People’s thrilling game booths.

For the first time, ARTBOX will be introducing a Trade Day where you can sit in on the different panel discussions, creative mic sessions, and flash mentoring to empower the next generation of creatives and entrepreneurs.

Culture Cartel Con 2025 (17 to 19 January)

Culture Cartel Con is back in full swing this weekend and you wouldn’t want to miss out on this exciting opportunity to check out some of the hottest launches in street culture. Happening from 17 to 19 January, catch your favourite street culture luminaries from the region and beyond and browse through collectables from over 250 brands from Singapore and Asia that span across art, fashion, music, tattoos and toys. The three-day convention is located at Singapore Expo Hall 5 and will include an extensive line-up of immersive exhibitions, masterclasses, panel discussions and exclusive global collaborations, including access to first-time launches, limited-edition drops and more.

ART SG (17 to 19 January)

ART SG, Southeast Asia’s leading international art fair, returns for its third edition from 17 to 19 January. Coinciding with Singapore Art Week, this year’s fair will see an impressive roster of over 106 exhibitors from 30 countries with an amalgamation of emerging talent across three dynamic sectors: GALLERIES, FOCUS, and FUTURES.

Here, the fair invites both new and seasoned collectors to immerse themselves in a diverse programme that includes large-scale installations in ‘Platform’, a thought-provoking ‘Talks’ series which features partners like Delfina Foundation and Bangkok Kunsthalle, and an engaging ‘Film’ programme that will be screened in collaboration with ArtScience Museum.

Little Farms Sentosa Fest (18 January)

In celebration of the opening of Little Farms Sentosa, the store will be hosting a day of free fun-filled, family (and doggy) friendly activities as well as a Farmer’s Market with loads of delicious food and drinks to sample. But that’s not all. There will also be other engaging activities like a doggy playground by Buddy Bites, where furry companions could frolic freely, and a family bootcamp led by Covefit and Lottie’s Fitness. Guests can look forward to unwinding with pilates sessions by The Viva Group or explore hands-on experiences like the Little Farmer’s Workshop by Grobrix. Meanwhile, kids can also take part in a cooking class hosted by The Baby Carrot Cooking Club, as well as creative stations for face painting and tote bag decorating.

Twilight: Flea & Feast (17 to 19 January)

Held at Suntec Singapore, this vibrant food and lifestyle market has something for everyone. Indulge in mouthwatering delights from 42 halal street food stalls, featuring must-try highlights like Satay Ummi’s pan-fried satay and Wonder’s Bakery’s decadent Chocolate Pistachio Kunafa Cake Box. Shop till you drop with 200 retail exhibitors offering everything from Adrianna Yariqa’s early Hari Raya collection to hands-on workshops by FARNart. Adding to the excitement, there will be live performances by buskers like Marae, Mahiir Salim, and Chelsea Care and family-friendly activities such as bouncy castles, arts and crafts, and six movie screenings for you and your little ones to enjoy.

Cosford Container Park CNY Weekend Market (18 to 19 January)

Ahead of the CNY festivities, Cosford Container Park will be hosting its very own CNY Weekend Market with an exciting lineup of performances, hands-on workshops, and a curated market of local artisanal delights from 18 to 19 January. During the event, you can expect a mesmerising lion dance performance on Saturday and get an up-close encounter with the animal of the year—a roving snake charmer. What’s more, for those who are doing some last-minute shopping, be sure to check out the vendors who will be offering everything from festive treats like Almond Cookies and Pineapple Balls by Phiang Delights and Knead A Dough, to handmade jewellery and accessories by Haeng Bok Clay and AOIFE.U.

Louis Vuitton x Murakami pop-up (4 to 19 January)

To celebrate the launch of the re-edition collection between Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami, the fashion house will be hosting an exciting pop-up that invites visitors to discover the breadth of imagination and creation within the Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami. At the event, you’ll get a first look at the latest collection from the collaboration which includes pieces ranging from handbags to other accessories. To complement your experience, be sure to swing by the cafe for some unique refreshments or get your Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami bags from the original archival collections restored by the artisans at the care station.

Opening of RASA (10, 11, 17 January)

Bored of the same ol’ party venues? Peep RASA, a new space that blends music, arts and culture, at Republic Plaza. Spanning over 6,100 sq ft, this multi-room venue features two distinct spaces: Hall and Floor. Designed by Berlin’s Studio Karhard (the team behind Berghain and K41), RASA promises to deliver a unique atmosphere for every night of the week.

In Hall, the vibe kicks off on Thursdays with energetic UK Garage and 2-step, easing into the weekend with smooth dub, soul, funk, and reggae on Fridays and Saturdays. Over at Floor, Thursdays take you back to ‘90s and early 2000s throwbacks, Fridays are all about house music, and Saturdays bring in deeper electronic sounds with acid house, electro, and broken beat.

On its opening weekend happening on 10 and 11 January, guests can expect two weekends of auditory adventure which includes a collaboration with Taiwan’s Organik Festival and a 3-day weekender the following week, featuring modular synthesist JakoJako, who’s best known as the first woman of Asian descent to join Berghain’s coveted roster of residents – and more.

Anytime Fitness Orchard pop-up (11 to 12 January)

The Golden Age Journey: L’oR de Jean Martell Pop-Up (10 to 12 January)

Ahead of the CNY festivities, Martell has just launched its L’Or de Jean Martell Zodiac Edition - Assemblage du Serpent. Housed in an opulent tailor-made decanter by French cristallerie, Baccarat, it’s said that there is a strictly limited release of 500 individually numbered bottles.

In celebration of the new expression, Martell will be hosting an experiential pop-up from 10 to 12 January at 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Rd, where visitors will get to immerse themselves across five elemental zones as an ode to the delicate balance of the liquid - Water, Earth, Fire, Wood, and Gold. Some of the experiential zones include a gold-scaled photo wall documenting Martell’s legacy, an infinity chamber, glass olfactory installations for a whiff of aromas in a room with visuals of Martell’s Terroir, behind-the-scenes look at the decanter crafting process by Baccarat and a pop-up bar to try some of Martell’s unique concoctions.

Yuewen Music Festival (28, 29, 31 December)

Missed out on the first two days of Yuewen Music Festival? Fret not. The festival will be ending the year on a high note on the 31st at Sentosa Singapore. With an exciting lineup of acts from all around the world including China, Singapore, the Netherlands, South Korea, Japan and Thailand, here you can expect performances by Afrojack, Akini Jing, Cuebrick, DON DIABLO, Julian Jordan, Lucas & Steve and WUKONG.

Good Night Fest (30 to 31 December)

Orchard Road is closing out the year in style! In the lead-up to the annual New Year’s Eve countdown, this iconic shopping street will transform into an outdoor festive market. Stretching from Wisma Atria to Ngee Ann City, the event will feature a lively mix of F&B stalls, retail booths, roving performances, and dazzling light displays – making it the perfect place to soak up the festive vibes and pick up some unique finds before ringing in the new year.

Christmas Wonderland (29 November to 1 January)

The 11th edition of Singapore’s biggest yuletide fair is back. Presented by Trip.com and organised by Blue Sky Events, this year’s event is bigger and brighter than ever, with even more stunning light displays and festive performances.

Experience the joy of ‘snowfall’ in the tropics, surrounded by sparkling lights, and meet the adorable trio of Merry Bears. Wander through an enchanted forest, try your hand at carnival games, and enjoy festive performances by local artists. At the Christmas Wonderland fair, you can also indulge in delicious holiday treats and make memories with loved ones in this winter wonderland.

A Universal Christmas (29 November to 1 January)

Universal Studios Singapore brings to you the world of Wicked as part of its Universal Christmas celebration, where the characters from the enchanting Emerald City come to life. Here, you’ll get to meet Elphaba, Glinda and many more, while also indulging in some wicked snacks and smoothies right in the heart of the New York zone.
